“Dreamtime stories extend a universal and psychic consciousness not only to every living creature, but also to the earth and the primary elements, forces and principles.  Each component of creation acts out of dreams, desires, attractions and repulsions, just as we do.  Therefore, the entrance into the larger world of space, time, and universal energies is the same as the entrance into the inner world of consciousness and dreaming.”- R.Lawlor, Voices of the First Day

The Dream Fellowship began as an online course offered during the Covid years. It is a space for working with dreams, hearing mythic story, and cultivating the collaborative skills needed to participate deeply in our Dreaming universe.

You will learn methods of dream work and of deepening into the dreaming body that come from ancient tradition and are amplified by modern holistic psychotherapy. The capacity to dream — at night or in active imagination — is the foundation of our hope and vision. If you are not dreaming at night, you can still fully participate.

Laura Melling has a lifelong calling to the realm of soul. She has been creating art, teaching and doing therapy at the interface of somatics, myth, nature and the Dreaming since 2003. Laura has an extensive scholarly, artistic and therapeutic background, which you can read about here. This is her first time teaching in New Mexico.

Entering into a living sense of Myth and the Dreaming is not as simple as reading a book. Entrance requires healing from aspects of our Western enculturation that are offensive to the Dreamtime. In the course, we will talk about these aspects and how we heal them.

Entry into the Dreaming happens by becoming lively and dynamic like the Dreamtime itself.  Ancestral (ie, sustainable) cultures prepare their people for the wisdom of the Dreaming through participatory culture — rituals, dances, songs, dramas, stories, and all types of symbolic activity.

Participation in symbolic meaning-making acquaints a person with the collaborative nature of the Dreamtime. Western science now calls this the quantum field.

So, following the lessons of sustainable cultures, we will be learning in a participatory way. Each session is a collaborative journey involving deep play in a space of conscious exploration.

The journey happens through movement, story, dream-work, meditation, shadow play, touch, breath-work, voice-play and any other means we might need. We will access our unconscious creativity and bring it into dialogue with consciousness.

This work gives space for the soul to arrive into its own creative power.
